Google makes it easier to multi-task with minimized in-app Chrome tabs


Sometimes having to open a link from another app on mobile can be disruptive and distract you from the task you’re trying to accomplish. Now one Update for Chrome it can help you focus on the task at hand. For example, when you click a link within Gmail and a Chrome Using the in-app icon, you can click the chevron icon next to the “x” in the toolbar or the close button to minimize the browser. This turns an open tab into a compact, floating picture-in-picture window that you can drag anywhere on the screen.

When you’re using the original app, you can minimize it, and when you’re ready to view its content, you only need to tap the floating window to return the tab to its original size. We have already been able to use the new feature on Android within Gmail. As long as your default browser is Chrome and you keep it up to date, if you don’t already have it, you’ll soon be able to take advantage of it. The feature is even enabled by default, so you don’t need to do anything to enable it. Of course, you can always send an in-app icon to Chrome if keeping different tasks open in separate windows makes you more productive.
