Now for a game that actually has 50 games – at least.
UFO 50latest project Spelunky studio Mossmouth is due out on Steam on September 18th, nearly six years after it was originally expected to launch. This is just an observation, not a criticism – UFO 50 is an ambitious project that offers 50 complete, retro-style games in one package, all coming from a team of just six people.
In UFO 50 lore, UFO Soft was a game developer active between 1982 and 1990, the peak NES and Genesis years. Collected games UFO 50 It features recurring characters and sequels from UFO Soft’s fictional past, and they’re limited in color and sound, as if they were made for legacy hardware. Mossmouth showcases an alternate timeline of video game history here, and it looks like a lot of fun.

None of the titles are mini- or micro-games, and while all are designed in an 8-bit aesthetic, their visual and mechanical styles have evolved over the years. Each game is played solo, and half of them contain multiplayer elements.
All that being said, I think Mossmut is selling itself short by calling UFO 50 is a collection simply 50 games. Sure, it includes 50 individual experiences inspired by classic games from the 1980s, but there’s also one big, hidden title in the collection — UFO 50 himself. Be sure to factor that into your pricing discussions, Mossmut.
