Amazon Prime Day 2024 is coming soon, now is the time to start thinking about what you want to look for once the deals arrive. Engadget will be covering all of the best tech deals we can find, both on Amazon and elsewhere, but there are some important things you should know in advance so you can get exactly what you want on Prime Day this year.
When is Amazon Prime Day?
We don’t have official dates for Prime Day 2024 yet, but we know it’s coming back sometime in July. The shopping event focuses on deals exclusive to Prime members, which means you’ll need to be a Prime subscriber on Prime Day to take advantage of most of the savings. Amazon still offers it 30 day free trial for new Prime subscribers, so you can start your free trial before July and participate in the event.
If you don’t pay for Prime and don’t intend to, you should still check Amazon on Prime Day for sales available to all shoppers — there’s always a few of them. Plus, it’s likely that other retailers like it, too Target and Best Buy will also have their own competitive Prime Day sales during that time.
Speaking of competitors, only Walmart announced The Prime Day version, dubbed Walmart+ Week, will run from June 17 to June 23. Walmart+ Week offers exclusive deals. Walmart+ members and the retail giant is focusing heavily on gas and travel discounts this year. It currently offers 20 cents back on every gallon of gas purchased at Exxon and Mobil stations, as well as 20 percent Walmart Cash back on travel spots purchased through Walmart+ Travel. However, that doesn’t mean we won’t see discounts on other products, including electronics, during Walmart’s members-only shopping event.
Amazon Prime Day deals
Amazon Prime Day usually lasts two days, but over the past few years, the company has started rolling out deals well before the event begins. As Amazon officially announces the dates for Prime Day 2024, we expect the same to happen this year with the original Prime Day deals.
Whether it’s the early Prime Day deals or the day of the sale, Amazon gadgets almost guaranteed to be on sale for the event. You can bet on things like Echo speakers, Kindle e-readers, and Fire TV devices at record low prices for Prime Day, so if you’ve been eyeing one of these items, these deals are worth waiting for. drop. Prime Day deals only match Black Friday, so while that means you’ll have another chance to get that smart speaker for a bargain, it likely won’t be until the holiday shopping season.
Amazon gadgets will not be discounted on Prime Day. You can find clothes, shoes, household items, household appliances, accessories, etc. on sale. you can find, but here at Engadget we’ll naturally focus on electronics.
