The M2 is one of two major changes to the iPad Air this time around. According to Apple, the chipset is about 50 percent faster than the M1, so the latest model should be a noticeable zip over the previous generation. However, the iPad Pro is now significantly more powerful than the Air because of the higher-end models arriving this week new M4 chipsetsmaking them the first Apple devices to do so.

The display is the other major change for the iPad Air. Not only is the base model’s screen 0.1 inches larger, making it a neater 11 inches, but for the first time, a 13-inch version of the iPad Air is available. This means that the iPad Air has the same screen dimensions as the iPad Pro (now in a way thinner and lighter than its mid-range sibling).

There is one immediately noticeable change in the iPad Air. The front camera is now placed on the landscape edge. This should make video calls a little more palatable for those who tend to point their iPads that way, including those who use keyboard attachments.
