OpenAI is reportedly working on a search feature for ChatGPT that could make the chatbot a true alternative to Google Search. according to Bloomberg, the company is currently developing a capability that can scour the web for answers to your queries and supplement the results by citing its own sources. ChatGPT can, for example, pull information from Wikipedia or blog posts and link to their original pages when asked a question.
Bloomberg says that in one version of the experimental search feature, ChatGPT can show you images and, if applicable, text responses. For example, if a chatbot finds illustrated instructions or diagrams like “how to change a door handle” or “how to clean a fabric AC” useful for a query, then it can include them in its responses. whom Bloomberg notes that ChatGPT can perform searches for prepaid customers, but it may return incorrect answers or incorrect quotes.
