LG’s S95TR soundbar with wireless Dolby Atmos is now available for $1,500

The company’s latest Dolby Atmos model, S95TRnow available at LG and other retailers For $1,500. It’s certainly expensive, but the company bundles the soundbar with a subwoofer and a pair of rear surround speakers. This means that no additional purchases will be required to complete your installation.

Inside, the S95TR has 17 speakers, including five up-firing drivers. LG says it’s the first to feature a center-mounted, up-firing speaker that improves soundbar-sized sound and helps with dialogue clarity. LG explains that it has also improved the tweeters on the S95TR and integrated passive radiators. This combo keeps the high frequencies clear, while providing a low frequency response of 120Hz in a 9.1.5 channel setup.

The company’s Wowcast technology allows the S95TR to wirelessly connect to compatible LG TVs, including wireless Dolby Atmos and DTS:X streaming. Wow Orchestra can use the LG TV’s speakers with the soundbar for a “harmonic combination of audio channels”. There’s also the company’s 3D Spatial Sound Technology, which analyzes audio channels with a three-dimensional engine to make things as immersive as possible. AI Room Calibration is also here, this year for the first time it will include surround back speakers in room tuning.
