The EA Play subscription service is getting more expensive

Electronic Arts EA Play subscription service. The standard EA Play tier has increased from $5 per month to $6 per month, and the annual fee has increased from $30 to $40. These updated prices also affect premium EA Play Pro subscriptions, which allow access to the publisher’s games as soon as they launch. This tier now costs $15 to $17 per month and $100 to $120 annually.

EA confirmed the changes to Engadget via email, noting that prices have increased in every country where the company operates. , it was decided to “adjust the fees to the market value” in the new cost structure. The price increase is live for new members, but existing subscribers won’t be affected until May 10.

For the uninitiated, EA Play is a subscription service that gives players access to select games from the company along with additional incentives like discounts and DLC. It is available on Xbox consoles, PlayStation consoles and PC. The service is compatible with Microsoft Game Pass, PlayStation Plus and Ubisoft+, among others. As mentioned earlier, EA Play Pro takes things a step further by allowing subscribers to play newly released games. It’s worth noting that Game Pass Ultimate members still get access to the standard EA Play tier as part of their subscription.

It’s always a shame these subscriptions get expensive, and EA is hardly alone here. Sony and Microsoft did the same . Ubisoft+ Premium is probably the closest analogue to Play Pro and this is in line with EA’s updated pricing model.
