Instead of controlling the device through your home’s wireless network, the 11S Max comes with a remote control that controls other smart functions like scheduling and cleaning mode selection. It also has a manual button on the top to start a session. It has three power modes – Standard, BoostIQ and Max – and BoostIQ provides a good balance of adequate suction and noise level. In our tests, a BoostIQ session lasted about an hour and 15 minutes. Obstacle avoidance is impressive at dodging random objects, although it did crash into walls at times. The vacuum is also about an inch and a half thinner than many other robot vacuums we’ve tested, allowing it to get under lowered furniture for a more thorough clean.
