Marvel’s X-Men ‘97 will pick up from where the 90s animated series left off

His story picks up where the old series left off, with a trailer showing how the team struggles to work together after the death of a critically injured Professor X at the end of the Saturday morning cartoon. This means viewers can expect the same roster of mutants from the original show, including Cyclops as team leader, Wolverine, Jean Grey, Beast, Storm, Rogue, Gambit, Jubilee and Bishop. At the end of the trailer, we’re also introduced to Magneto, who has inherited everything Professor X left behind.

X-Men: The Animated Series was the best adaptation of comics. The new show has a similar look and feel, but its animation quality thankfully looks better.
