Microsoft made a $349 hardware client to connect to Cloud PCs


Accessing and securing the cloud is a must for businesses, and Microsoft has taken it one step further by announcing the Windows 365 Link appliance. According to Microsoft, “it allows desktop users to work securely on the familiar Windows desktop. Microsoft Cloud with sensitive, high-fidelity experiences.”

Windows 365 Link is a small, lightweight device that Microsoft can wake up instantly, start up in seconds, and natively process video conferencing solutions like Microsoft Teams. It does not store local data or apps, has basic security policies enabled, and does not allow individuals to disable security features. Plus, sign-in requires Microsoft Entra ID along with Microsoft Authenticator app or USB security keys.

Microsoft’s new device also works with dual 4K monitorsaudio port, four USB ports, ethernet port, Bluetooth 5.3 and Wi-Fi 6E. Windows 365 Link is currently in preview, but should arrive in select territories in April 2025 for $349.
