Open source Twitter alternative Bluesky now open to everyone. After being in beta for just under a year and with over three million users, social media platform X (formerly Twitter) or the ruins of Threads is an option if that doesn’t do it for you.

Decentralized status aside, the service is functionally similar to X and Threads. Posts are ‘skeets’ not tweets. It has a timeline, but you can also follow numerous other algorithmic feeds created by fellow users. (I’m interested in a feed for quiet friends – users you follow and don’t post often.)
You can find me there @thatmatsmith.bsky.social. I’ll probably be one of those quiet dudes.

And the Switch is old.
At almost seven years old, the Nintendo Switch proves there’s still life in the hybrid console. Long enough for Nintendo to increase its projected sales figures for the current fiscal year. In its earnings release for the third quarter, the company announced that it had increased forecast sales of the Switch to 15.5 million from 15 million. That’s great, but where? Transition 2?
