You’ll get another chance to pre-order the retro-themed PS5 on Tuesday


If you missed Sony’s short pre-order window for it, you’re about to get another chance 30th anniversary PS5 console. The retro-themed hardware suddenly sold out during the pre-order period on September 26, and fans were left unhappy with Sony. predictably disappointing order process. A warning on Sony’s product page (through Kotaku) says the second round will be Tuesday, October 29 at noon ET.

It features a throwback skin reminiscent of limited edition consoles and accessories OG PlayStationIt was launched in Japan in 1994. It features a sleek gray color scheme that allows the old-school Playstation logo to really pop.

The message (“Check back from October 29th, 9:00 AM”) appears only on 30th Anniversary product pages. $500 PS5 Slim Bundle and $80 DualSense controller. Unfortunately, no such message appears in the retreat PS5 Pro bundle or PlayStation Portal product pages.

Assuming only the Slim bundle is available, this will be your second (and possibly last) chance to get the cheaper of the two consoles. It includes digital (no disc drive!) PS5 Slima standard DualSense controller (also designed for the occasion), a retro cable connector housing, PlayStation-shaped cable ties and a vertical kickstand. Oh, and there are some extra goodies like a sticker, poster, and PlayStation paper clip that we can imagine will sell for three figures on eBay once the bundle arrives on November 21st.
