October Prime Day tablet deals discount Amazon’s Fire HD 8 to $55


Amazon has updated Fire HD 8 series last week and immediately discounted the slate for him October’s Prime Day sale. The new slate has more RAM, a better camera setup and built-in AI features to set it apart from its predecessor. The device would normally start at $100 (with lock screen ads), but Amazon is now selling the base model for $55 until October 9th. improved configuration with more memory and storage on sale for $85, down from the $130 MSRP.

As the name suggests, the new Fire HD 8 has an 8-inch display with a resolution of 1280 x 800 (189 ppi). One of the big improvements to the 2024 model is the addition of 3GB of RAM on top of the base storage tier (32GB). And the 64GB variant slides up to 4GB of RAM. Of course, this is a very budget tablet, so these aren’t anywhere near barrier-breaking numbers. But that’s still 50-100 percent higher than the 2GB of RAM on the 2022 model.

Amazon rates the Fire HD 8 for up to 13 hours of battery life. The rear camera of the tablet is 5 megapixels. (This is the same as its “Plus” version 2022 predecessorbut higher than 2MP in the old standard version.)

Tablets also include some generative artificial intelligence capabilities. Like Apple Adopt AI early In the 2024 updates, they include a Writing Assist feature that can write messages based on notifications. It can also summarize web pages, make grammar suggestions, and correct brevity.

There are also two children’s versions of the tablet: Fire HD 8 Kids and Fire HD 8 Kids Pro. As you’d expect from Amazon’s kid-focused options, these versions will feature a “childproof” case in Disney-branded designs (including Pixar Cars, Disney Princess or Marvel Avengers). They also come with a subscription Amazon Kids+the company’s content delivery service for kids (including mobile games!). Between the two, the Kids version has a thicker case built for younger kids, while the Kids Pro has a thinner hard case designed for older kids. Both Kids tablets would normally cost $140, but are currently down to $70 for Prime Day.
