Don’t do it call it AI, but Apple’s long-awaited AI plan is finally being unveiled today. Well, in limited form anyway. Developer iOS 18.1, iPadOS 18.1 and macOS Sequoia 15.1 just dropped and it includes some of the first ones Apple Intelligence features available to a wider, public group of testers. To be clear, this is not a full release It is rumored to be delayed until October. These updates are part of a preview for developers to test.
How to get the new Apple Intelligence features
Starting today, those with Apple developer accounts will be able to update their software and access their settings to see the new option for Apple Intelligence. There, you’ll have to join a waiting list, though it shouldn’t take more than a few hours for you to gain access to the new features.
It is important to note that you must have both iPhone 15 Pro or Pro Max Using the new Apple Intelligence features in the iOS 18.1 developer beta or iPadOS 18.1 preview on an iPad or Mac with an M1 chip or later. You’ll also be running software that may be unstable or buggy, so be sure to back up your device before installing a developer beta.
What Apple Intelligence features are available now?
Once you’ve been granted access, Apple will send a notification to your device. New stuff you can play with in this version of the beta includes writing tools for proofreading, rewriting, or summarizing text. You will also be able to create Memories redesigned Photos appas well as some updated Siri, including typing to the assistant and understanding when you stutter.
Features not yet available include Genmoji, ChatGPT integration and Personal context and in-app actions for Siri. More should come in future betas, and as a reminder, the full, general release of iOS 18, iPadOS 18, and macOS Sequoia is expected later this year.
