How to watch Summer Games Done Quick 2024


Summer Games Done Quick (SGDQ) is back for more quick charity races of classic and modern games. The 2024 edition of the marathon will be held from Minneapolis from June 30 to July 6 as the turbo-gamers battle it out. Alan Wake II, Halo 3 and Super Mario RPG remake (among many others). The event’s first ever speedster will even return from 1994, winning the SNES baseball game.

Festivities begin June 30 at 12:30 PM ET with a pre-show event, followed by a screening of the 1997 platform game. Yoshi’s story at 1 p.m. The week-long event ends on July 6 with a quick unveiling of the new Super Mario RPG Remake for Switch at 11:05pm, followed by a special finale.

The rest of the week is filled with old-school classics, recent AAA titles, quirky novelty games, and excruciatingly difficult custom mods. The latter can be especially fun to watch as the players perform well-timed jumps that most of us would take hours of practice to perform once, only to have them perform a series of them on their first cue attempt in front of a live audience.

A few runs worth checking out include night time Alan Wake 2 fast link (July 2 12:49 ET), The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past (July 4 at 10:35 a.m.), Halo 3 (July 4 at 19:00) Metal Gear Solid 4: Weapons of the Patriots (July 6 at 1:21 am) and Super Mario World (July 5 at 5:50 p.m.). If the original SNES Mario adventure isn’t your thing, MrMightyMouse will do a ROM mod of the game. Big World of Poo July 3 July 5 at 11:26 PM ET.

Games Gone Too Soon / Wes “Fish” Chan

The Peanut Butter Shiba Inu is forever etched in the GDQ record books Gyromite run in Awesome Games Done Quick 2024, will return at this summer’s event. He will help his fellow human JSR_ play the SNES title Ken Griffey, Jr. Presenting Major League Baseball July 4 at 8:35 p.m. Who needs fireworks when you can watch a gamer dog play a sports title from the 16-bit era for ham and cheese?

Funds will be collected for the event Doctors Without Borders. The non-profit organization offers medical and humanitarian assistance to people affected by crises such as war, disease, natural disasters and inadequate health care in more than 72 countries. Last year, SGDQ brought in more than $2.2 million. The GDQ series has raised over $45 million for various charities.
