Simply slimmed down the latest iPad Pro, Apple is said to be looking to make the iPhone thinner. More specifically, the company is working on a “significantly thinner” device that could be included in the iPhone 17 lineup instead of the Plus model. Information.
According to several sources, this model has been described as an iPhone X-level leap in design language for the company. Apple hasn’t locked down the design yet, and it’s said to be looking at different options, including an aluminum chassis. The improved front-facing camera, along with Face ID sensors, could be housed in a smaller pill-shaped cutout, while the rear camera array could move to the center of the phone (which could reduce the chance of accidentally covering the lens with your fingers). The screen size is fixed somewhere between the current main iPhone and the iPhone Pro Max – that is, between 6.12 and 6.69 inches.
If that’s interesting to you, it’s worth considering that the slimmed-down iPhone could actually cost more than the iPhone Pro Max, which starts at $1,200. But hey, at least you’ll have time to save up for it.
This slim model can be set to replace the Plus in the iPhone series. The report indicates that there will be an iPhone 16 Plus, but this could be the end of this format, which did not meet Apple’s sales expectations.
