After ten years of rumors and speculation, the Apple Car . Last week, Bloomberg reported that the multi-billion dollar project had finally been cancelled. There is no information about the electric car but now we have many new details about the car thanks to none from Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman.
The story contains many fascinating details about various Apple executives’ plans for the car and why the project eventually failed. But some of the best details are the renderings of what the car should look like.
Apple executives once insisted that an autonomous “minibus” should not include a steering wheel or pedals. It would have a “private jet-like club seat” and curved sides and a glass roof. The famous Apple designer Jony Ive thought that the interior should be “clad in stainless steel, wood and white fabric” and that it should only be in one color: white.
