Thanks to a series of leaks and Google’s own laughs — usually after said leaks — we know we’ll get an official announcement of the Pixel 9 lineup.
The Pixel 9 and 9 Pro will be direct successors to the Pixel 8 and 8 Pro, but Google is rumored to add a larger-screen Pixel 9 Pro XL. All three phones are expected redesigned, crazy camera module and maybe a new chipset.
Along with all these phones, we expect more news about Gemini, Google’s AI-powered assistant, and Android 15. Yes, no. already 15. More leaks and rumors point to updated smartwatches and wireless buds as well. And let me tell you, the new streaming box. The Made by Google event begins on August 13th at 1:00 PM ET. Plenty of time for more leaks, right?

Suno admitted to training the AI model on copyrighted songs.
In June, Universal Music Group, Warner Music Group and Sony Music Group sued music AI startups Udio and Suno, alleging they trained artificial intelligence models to remove copyrighted material from the internet. In today’s lawsuit, Suno admitted that the neural networks did in fact infringe copyrighted material. He claimed that the scrap was part of a back-end technology process to create new products that were “non-destructive”. They don’t have examples, so where’s the problem? Well, according to the RIAA, which represents music labels everywhere and is suing.

A federal judge has dismissed the Republican National Committee’s (RNC) lawsuit against Google over its Gmail service. The suit alleged that Google’s email platform was labeling GOP fundraising emails as spam at a higher rate than those across the aisle. The ruling is the second case the RNC has lost over allegations of unfair filtering by Gmail. The RNC filed suit in the same court in 2022. That dismissal with prejudice means he can’t take the case to another court — but he can still appeal Calabretta’s decision. That is, unless the RNC is busy with other things, like the presidential election.
