Spotify is officially raising Premium subscription rates In the US, July follows news about the move in April. The platform is increasing its individual plan from $11 to $12 a month, and its Duo plan from $15 to $17 a month. $1 and $2 price increase from last year, according to. However, its Family plan is going up by $3, going from $17 to $20 per month. The only subscribers taking a break are students, who will continue to pay $6 a month.
Spotify announced the price increase less than a year later previous, last July. Before that, Spotify hadn’t raised its fees since it launched a decade and a half ago. I think it was too optimistic to expect the next surge to take that long, especially given Spotify’s continued focus (and cash flow) on audiobooks.
Premium subscribers should receive an email Spotify detailing the price increase in the following month and providing a link to cancel their plans if they wish to do so. Users currently on a trial for Spotify will receive $11 a month after it ends, before moving to a $12 monthly payment.
