Apple TV’s Dark Matter series takes on one of Blake Crouch’s best books

Apple has released a trailer for another of its never-ending sci-fi shows. Dark Matter starring Joel Edgerton and Jennifer Connelly. It is also based on the fantastic book by author Blake Crouch . The premiere of the show will take place on May 8 with two episodes.

I’ve read the book and I love it, but there won’t be any real spoilers here. Dark Matter follows a physicist who gets involved in some serious sci-fi shenanigans. The trailer strays a bit from the plot, just enough to make you realize that this particular sci-fi extravaganza is multi-faceted. Again, the book is a roaring page-turner, so the show should follow suit. The rest of the cast includes Jimmy Simpson, Alice Braga, Dayo Okeniyi and Oakes Fegley.

Crouch is actually the showrunner here, a first for the author. However, this is not the first TV show based on one of his books. Wayward Pines aired for two seasons on Fox and was based on a series of novels. Good Behavior, also adapted from a 2016 TNT book series. The writer wrote a number of novels that were not turned into television shows. We heartily recommend Upgradewhich made our list .

Dark Matter It joins a fully stocked collection of sci-fi shows on Apple TV+. there are heavy hitters like Get fired, For All Humanity and Siloas well as a bunch of lesser-known programs Invasion and . I’m not done. Monarch: Legacy of Monsters and Hello Sabah set in a retro-future wonderland. I haven’t finished yet. To see, Schmigadoon and The Last Days of Ptolemy Grey all have sci-fi elements. Finally, there’s a fantasy show about an American college football coach Without knowing anything about sports in England.
