Instagram DMs have a new location-sharing feature

Instagram expanded its DM features on Monday. Now you can share your live space with friends, convenient for meetings at concerts or other crowded places. The social platform also now lets you add nicknames in one-on-one or group chats, and there are over 300 new stickers to share in DMs.

You can enable the new location sharing feature for up to one hour. It is only shown to people in your personal DMs (one-on-one or group) and locations cannot be passed to anyone outside of the designated chat. This feature is disabled by default, and you’ll see a “Sharing your location” indicator at the top of every message header where you enable it. You can also stop sharing it manually at any time.
