A few days ago, Deadline informed There are several key personnel behind Amazon’s upcoming live action God of War adaptation left the project. But the production of the series will still continue, and according to the publication, Ronald D. Moore will now serves as its hostas well as one of its writers and executive producers. He replaces original showrunner Rafe Judkins (The wheel of time) and EPs Mark Fergus and Hawk Otsby (Children of Men and Iron man). This will be Moore’s first project with Sony TV since returning to the studio in June under a multi-year deal.
Moore is known for its development and production Battlestar Galactica restart and to write with them Star Trek: The Next Generation and Deep Space Nine episodes. His writing credits also include several Star Trek movies, Mission Impossible IIand Philip K. Dick’s Electric Dreams For Amazon. He has been working with the studio for ten years, including producing shows Foreigner For Starz and For All Humanity For Apple TV+, before it launches in 2020.
Judkins, Ferus and Otsby have already written multiple scripts for the show, but Amazon reportedly wants to move in a different creative direction. The God of War series will be based on the 2018 game inspired by Norse mythology. Before they reach their destination, they battle gods, monsters, and other creatures, and along the way uncover secrets about each other and the realm they inhabit.
