First, records came back into vogue, and may still be (*checks records*) VHS tapes. The last major film to be put on VHS was A A History of Violence In 2006, however Alien: Romulusthis year’s addition Alien franchise is being released on December 3rd as a limited edition VHS tape, The Verge reports. Its director, Fede Alvarez, announced the news at a preview held in partnership with Beyond Fest.
The Alien: Romulus The VHS tape celebrates the 45th anniversary of the cultural icon Alien famously described Like “a movie where no one listens to a smart woman, and then everyone dies except the smart woman and her cat.” The tape will show the audience Alien: Romulus It comes in a 4:3 aspect ratio and a retro-looking case designed by artist Matt Ferguson.
Alien: Romulus It premiered in August and reportedly grossed $350 million worldwide — we were fans, calling it “a great and terrifying Alien tale for a new generation.” We’ll have to wait and see how much VHS sales add to this (seriously, does anyone own a VHS player anymore?), but it will be released simultaneously on 4K-UHD, DVD and Blu-Ray in December. No word yet on the price or quantity of the limited edition VHS tape.
