Amazon will stream an election night special with Brian Williams


Amazon Prime Video Hosted by Brian Williams. The veteran news anchor will present “election results and analysis” beginning at 5:00 PM ET on November 5th. Interestingly, this is a free special app and does not require a Prime membership. It will be broadcast live not only in America but all over the world.

Williams will be joined by a host of panelists to discuss the election results, all moderated by industry veteran Glenn Weiss. He has hosted many live events from the Oscars to the Emmys and beyond.

Amazon does not have a news section, so it will pull results and commentary from third-party sources across all political affiliations. . Williams said in a statement that he will “follow that story wherever election night takes us.”

Albert Cheng, vice president and head of Prime Video, says it’s a “one-night-only” event, but it’s not unprecedented. Prime Video did the first it’s even available for live streaming to people who don’t subscribe to the service.

As for Williams, he has been the anchor of NBC Nightly News for more than a decade. He left his position as a news anchor in some of his reporting, particularly on stories from Iraq and Hurricane Katrina.
