Let’s be very clear: this iPad is pretty old at this point. Apple released it in 2021, and since then the company has introduced another major iPad, along with several mini, Pro, and Air models. This sale feels like trying to clear out old stock, but there are plenty of good reasons to choose the 9th generation iPad over a more powerful model.

Apple’s 9th generation iPad has again fallen to a record low price. If you’re looking for the cheapest iPad that can handle basic tasks, this is probably the way to go.
We gave it to the 9th generation iPad 81 points in our reviewthanks to its solid camera, performance and main storage (64GB) upgrades, and solid battery life. During our initial video streaming tests, it lasted 14 hours on a single charge. It even has a headphone jack, which is definitely a plus.
A tablet will certainly do the trick if all you need is a tablet for reading, browsing the web, managing some emails and watching videos – even more so if you’re already in the Apple ecosystem. You’ll be able to doodle with the original Apple Pencil on this iPad, but this model isn’t best suited for professional-level design work or productivity.
Apple tends to support iPads for at least five years in terms of iPadOS updates, so it’s possible (but not sure) that you can install up to iPadOS 20 on this thing. So you should be able to stream video to this tablet via the likes of Netflix within a few years.
