Sony raises PS5 DualSense controller prices by $5


You’ll have to pay a little more for the PS5 DualSense controller you’re expecting when you buy a new one. as IGN reports that Sony has raised the prices of controllers worldwide by $5, even in its own store. Standard DualSense controllers in basic colors will now set you back $75, up from $70, while the pricier metal options—sterling silver, cobalt blue, and volcanic red—will set you back $80. Retailers selling the controllers, including Amazon, Best Buy, and Target, have already changed their prices after being audited. The new prices have also come into effect in other regions, including the UK, EU countries and Australia.

In August, Sony Raised PlayStation 5 prices in Japan 19 percent due to “making economic decisions difficult.” The company didn’t elaborate, but it expects fewer PS5 sales in 2025, though the console will still outpace the Xbox Series X/Si. It also raised the prices of PS5 accessories in Japan at the time, and now the rest of the world has followed suit.

Sony will host an event todayFor the PlayStation 5 Technical Presentation, which will be broadcast live on the YouTube channel on September 10th at 11:00 AM ET. It was not revealed what the event was about, but all signs point to the launch of the PS5 Pro. The event, which will be held under the theme “PS5 and innovations in gaming technology”, will be led by Mark Cerny, the lead architect of PS5.
