A Minecraft Movie trailer gives us our first look at Jason Momoa and Jack Black ahead of its 2025 release


It’s taken ten years, but we finally have a teaser for the live stream Minecraft movie. The first preview is out today at Warner Bros. comes courtesy of a video posted by and is just over a minute long — but, hey, we’ll take it. The studio has confirmed its previous target of April 4, 2025, moving forward with a theatrical-only release. Yes, there was a time release dates for May 2019 and March 2022but having a teaser makes us feel a little more hopeful (sane?) this time.

After a number of directors joined and left the project, Minecraft movie directed by filmmaker Jared Hess. The Nacho Libre the director is joined by his former boss, Jack BlackMinecraft Steve playing. The actors are rounded up Jason MomoaEmma Meyers, Danielle Brooks, Sebastian Eugene Hansen and Jennifer Coolidge. For those who don’t know, Minecraft With over 350 million sold, it is literally the best-selling video game of all time. Originally released by independent developer Mojang Studios, Microsoft purchased the studio and the game’s intellectual property in 2014 for a staggering $2.5 billion. It’s an open-world sandbox that lets players build anything they can imagine. Of course, there have been a number of spin-off games with more focus. As for the movie, it’s been stuck in development hell for a long time — it was first announced in 2014, the same year Mojang was acquired by Microsoft.
