The Kobo Libra 2 ereader has dropped to its lowest price of the year so far. You can catch one which is also $20 off. That’s right around the holiday season price of a waterproof reading tablet.

Kobo’s Libra 2 easily ours for a number of reasons. First of all, this thing has actual buttons, which is becoming a rarity on modern readers. This gives users some tactile feedback when adjusting settings, turning pages, and performing other activities on the tablet. Like most readers, the screen quickly reorientates so you can place the buttons on either side of the device.
We’re also impressed with the aesthetics, as this device looks and feels great in use. We also called it the “most comfortable ereader” we’ve ever owned because of its textured and rubberized back. There is a very useful warming light that mimics natural environments. Text and image clarity are spot on, too, and the whole thing is waterproof up to six feet for 60 minutes. So grab a towel and hit the pool.
While we love the large 32GB capacity that holds thousands of books, the Libra 2 has a relatively small 7-inch screen that pales in comparison to, say, the Kindle Scribe. However, it is almost the same size as standard paper. The $190 asking price is a bit steep, but that discount puts the kibosh on that concern. With this sale, the Libra 2 is a full $80 cheaper than the similarly specced Kindle Oasis.
