Google’s School time feature is coming to Android smartphones


Google does Support for School Time feature for more hardware. School Time allows parents to limit the functionality of their child’s devices during pre-defined hours. This could be when they are in class or any time adults want to limit screen time. Parents will be able to use the Family Link parental control app to set their children’s School Hours on select Android phones, tablets and Samsung Galaxy Watches. However, Google hasn’t shared any additional information about which devices in those categories will receive this update. The tool was first launched on Fitbit Ace LTE smartwatches .

School Time is designed to help limit mobile device distractions for the young user. When enabled, sets a custom home page with limited notifications. Parents can choose which apps remain accessible and allow texts and calls from certain people. This encourages focus when needed, while also allowing for immediate communication when needed.
