Humble Games has reportedly laid off all 36 employees. Former employees placed about cuts in social networks. A Humble Games PR representative also confirmed to Engadget that the company will not be closing its doors as a result of today’s restructuring. He added that both ongoing and upcoming projects will continue to be supported and published by the studio.

Emilee Kieffer, a former lead quality assurance analyst at Humble Games, wrote on LinkedIn after she was fired: “The gaming industry is volatile, overrun by people who only want exponential growth at the cost of making great games with great teams.”

The indie publisher has helped bring about 50 video games to market, including popular hits Kill the Spire, Packaging, Wandersong and Coral Island. “This decision was not taken lightly; it involved a lot of discussion and careful thought with the goal of ensuring stability and support for our developers and ongoing projects,” Humble said in a statement.
