Analogue’s latest limited-edition Pocket consoles are made out of aluminum

Analog has just announced upcoming limited edition its popular retro Pocket console. It has a completely attractive machined aluminum exterior. It looks pretty cool. It also costs $500, almost $300 more than the non-aluminum Analog Pocket.

Analog promises that “every piece” is “CNC all-aluminum.” The company also says it will be available in “highly limited quantities,” with orders going live on July 15 at 11 a.m. ET. Past as prologue, these limited editions sell out quickly. Be sure to set a reminder or alarm to join the queue if you’d like, because Analogue says these consoles won’t be sold again. They will be available in four anodized colors including natural metallic, indigo and black.

Aside from the aluminum exterior, which looks great, it’s the same console that’s been around since 2021. It allows people to play real Game Boy cartridges and other carts with the right adapters on a handheld console with some modern advancements. It usually costs $220, so you’re paying a lot for aluminum.

It should be noted that rival companies such as Retroid have also developed metal versions of their consoles, but marking was minimal. It’s also worth noting that these other metal consoles don’t look as cool as the aluminum Analog Pocket. I guess you get what you pay for.
