One of the holiest, yet non-religious days of our economic year is almost upon us, and Amazon will be celebrating the occasion by giving away three AAA titles these days. The online retailer has announced that it will be giving away free copies Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, Chivalry 2 and Rise of the Tomb Raider: 20 Year Celebration Edition Within 48 hours starting Tuesday, July 16.
Amazon’s early Prime Day deals will also give 15 computer games ahead of this year’s Prime Minister’s Day, including headlines like Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic 2 – Sith Lords, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge and Alex Kidd at Miracle World DX.
Rocksteady’s open world Suicide Squad the game is a game in amazon’s free game pack that looks like an even trade showing how hard it is for players on day one. It took seven years to develop the game and expectations were high because it came from the same studios that made the brilliant Batman Arkham trilogy, but from the beginning of its release date it seemed like a failure.
Rocksteady has taken the game offline just an hour after launch due to a strange bug that allowed players to beat the game after only a few minutes of play. Opinions were not even among players.
We know we’re not doing a good job of selling the game, but the fact that it’s free and being a giant anthropomorphic shark is enough to top it off.
Medieval multiplayer brawler from Tom Banner Studios Chivalry II fared better among critics and players. Imagine Star Wars: Battlefront if it was set in the Middle Ages (the time period, not the dinner theater chain). It’s basically a big gory sandbox where you hack, stab, and slash strangers online in epic medieval battles you’ve seen in the movies. Brave Heart, Willow and The Lord of the Rings trilogy before buying road out of hand.
Easily the best freebie deal in this collection is the 20th anniversary edition Rise of the Tomb Raider. Lara Croft, played by Camilla Luddington, returns to computers in this epic tale of archeology and survival as she treks across the freezing tundra of Siberia to continue her late father’s research. She also contends with an evil shadow group called the Trinity who are chasing her, and a legendary secret of immortality that may be more important than the myth Lara may realize.
