Apple Intelligence is coming, but not to every iPhone out there. It’s not clear why older devices using the A16 chip (like the iPhone 14 Pro) don’t work with Apple Intelligence, as its neural engine is more capable than the M1. A closer look at the spec sheets of these two processors reveals that the main differences are in memory and GPU. Specifically, the A16 Bionic can support a maximum of 6GB of RAM on board, while the M1 starts at 8GB and goes up to 16GB. What iOS 18 features are coming to iPhones?
Everything described in the iOS portion of yesterday’s WWDC 2024 keynote is coming to all iPhones (upgradable to iOS 18).
