The most obvious use for a transparent laptop screen would be sharing information in a doctor’s office or at a hotel desk. Instead of flipping the screen, you can simply flip the output of the device through the app. According to Sam Rutherford, the transparency effect is confusing. When closed or off, the Project Crystal’s display almost looks like a regular piece of brown glass. But suddenly everything lights up like a battleship.
