Overwatch 2s newest hero is a tank with surprising mobility and brutal dive and combat tactics. Hazard has a punk-rock aesthetic, a Scottish brogue, and a shotgun that can stun your heroes in a vulnerable backline. But don’t be put off by his tough exterior: This anti-establishment rapscallion has a steadfast belief in bodily autonomy and a love of adorable puppies.
It was Hazard who was able to play during the limited-time trial first thought As a terrifying cyberpunk villain named Speaker. But after Blizzard’s designers showed off their goofy badass to the development team, it became clear that he’d become a charming rebel with a protective instinct.
Blizzard describes Hazard’s gameplay as “an impulse-based mix between diving and brawling playstyles that will leave opponents running for cover.” His two distinguishing abilities are Jagged Wall (“a spiked wall of Vanadium that will stick to any surface”) and Violent Leap (“a mid-range, two-stage mobility option”). He can use his Vault passive ability to grow a wall of spikes, giving the beefy bruiser surprising agility.
His primary fire ability is the Bonespur, a close-to-medium range shotgun that fires a round of spikes. Meanwhile, the Spike Guard allows this Scottish Sid Vicious in HGH to block damage while sending a volley at any spikes unlucky enough to be in his path.
In the wise words of Hazard, “The best defence? Stabbing.”
