Cadillac is adding a new luxury SUV to its electric vehicle fleet. is a three-row, all-electric SUV that will hit showrooms and dealerships next summer with prices starting at $78,790.
The Vistiq’s dual-motor, all-wheel-drive system is powered by a 102-kWh battery pack with a 300-mile range that produces 615 horsepower and 650 pound-feet of torque. Vistiq also supports two-way vehicle-to-home (V2H) charging capabilities: it can charge at home and also deliver electricity to your home during a power outage. Use of features requires purchase of GM Energy V2H package.
The SUV’s design is aesthetically borrowed from other Cadillac EVs. as it has neater door handles and similar-looking lights and side panels. It also matches the Lyriq’s 300-mile range. The “swept back windshield” and “Black Crystal Shield grille” evoke the Escalade IQ.
Of course, the Vistiq’s power and price are different from its Cadillac EV counterpart. The new Cadillac EV SUV is cheaper than the Escalade IQ ($129,990) but more expensive than the Lyriq ($58,595). It has a higher peak battery range of 450 miles.
The Vistiq comes with a 23-speaker AKG7 Studio Audio system with Dolby Atmos. The Android-powered infotainment system is built on a 33-inch high-definition LED display. Also The Verge that the new EV’s navigation system uses Google Maps and can run other apps from the Google Play Store.
Apple CarPlay and Android Auto won’t be available in Cadillac’s newest EV. Apple is pulling CarPlay and Android Auto from its electric cars and plans to go with Android Automotive. said Edward Kummer, executive director of GM’s Digital Cockpit Experience said the automaker doesn’t want any features in its EVs that “rely on a person having a cell phone.”
