You’ll soon be able to play Halo 2’s iconic E3 demo in honor of its 20th anniversary


Microsoft, Xbox and Halo Studios they celebrate Halo 2 On its 20th anniversary, releasing recreations of some of the game’s most memorable maps Halo Infinite, as well as its E3 demo is probably one of the most important moments in the franchise’s history. It was only possible to make it available for fans to play because community moderators and the game’s community as a whole worked to restore it. The “wider Halo community” helped restore its original files and assets, while a team of community moderators developed the tools needed to recreate the demo and improve upon the original.

“Steven Garcia (known to the public as General_101) was vital to making this script stand up and even better than the original. He was a one-man army and did a significant amount of work on developing tools, updating scripts and even Digsite team members Ludus, Neo Te Aika, Sean T, xScruffyDaSasquatchx, and Killzone then provided the final touches to replicate the original demo experience and bug-check the assets, and that’s it,” said Halo Senior Franchise Writer Kenneth Peters.

The Halo 2 The E3 2003 demo will be available as a free mod on the Steam Workshop Halo: The Master Chief Collection starts from November 9.
