Have you ever started a show, stopped mid-season, and then struggled to get back into it when you didn’t know exactly where you were watching or what happened? Amazon just might have you covered. The company is just Introduced a new tool for Prime Video uses AI to generate personalized summaries.
X-Ray Recaps uses generative artificial intelligence to create “short, easy-to-digest summaries” of entire TV seasons, single episodes, or even episodes. It’s all personalized, so the summary will go down to the “exact minute of where you’re watching”. The company promises “short text snippets of major cliffhangers, character-based plot points” and other details.
Adam Gray, vice president of product at Prime Video, says the tool will help customers “quickly go back to what they were watching or rediscover why they fell in love with the series in the first place.” This company is powered by Amazon Bedrock dedicated AWS service For building and scaling AI applications. For those worried about spoilers, the AI is trained to avoid them at all costs.
This is an extension pre-existing X-Ray featureoffers trivia and broadcast information while streaming. I love this tool and am constantly amazed that other broadcasters haven’t adopted something similar.
X-Ray Recaps, albeit in beta, launches today for Fire TV customers. Additional devices will receive support by the end of the year. Currently, it only works with content developed by Amazon MGM Studios, e.g Download, Mr. and Mrs. Smith, Tim wheele and Boys.
