a blog post today Google said it will make AI Insights in Google Search available to users in more than 100 countries. Google says people like AI Insights, which is why the company plans to reach 1 billion monthly users. In addition, Google is expanding language support – now users in any country can get their AI Views in any available language. For example, users in Japan are no longer limited to Japanese.
If you’re not familiar with AI Insights by now, it’s a feature found in Google Search. Google’s Gemini AI model will generate summaries for most things people search for, or at least when Google’s systems detect a query where generative AI might be useful. This summary appears at the top of the page. In addition to answering questions, it can also act as a meal planner, vacation organizer, and brainstorming tool, among many other things.
This update follows several updates that have been released over the past few months since its rollout AI Reviews in May. The most recent update before that allowed users to visit websites by clicking on links in the AI browsing text. Google says this has resulted in increased traffic to “supporting websites”. However, some publishers and sites fear that reviews are killing their traffic by being the first thing people see.
News like this is no surprise to Google Fill up the AI enter Search whenever you can. AI Insights has also caused some controversy after AI provided inaccurate information to humans for searches – e.g. glue on pizza a little. In response to these issues, Google put Some protections and safeguards in AI reviews to avoid similar weird problems.
