Severance season two teaser trailer shows the world’s worst return-to-office policy in action


After a long hiatus due in part to last year Hollywood holidayspopular Apple TV+ sci-fi/thriller series Do not quit It returns for its second season on January 17. While the streaming service didn’t give much away, it released a teaser trailer with enough intrigue and twists to keep fans on their toes.

Do not quitif you remember, it focuses on a group of people completely separate work and non-work memories. Four employees at Lumon Industries (with their offices known as “innies”) finally come up with some sort of escape plan. As they find a way to blur the lines between the two sets of memories, the three of them learn earth-shattering revelations about their “unknown” lives in the season one finale.

Apple says that in the second season, “Mark and his friends learn the dire consequences of messing with the exit barrier, which sends them down a path of further misery.” The teaser shows a panicked Mark S. (Adam Scott) retreating through the oppressive corridors of the building at Lumon Industries. In a similar way Sound bites from the first season are included, along with some eyebrow-raising visuals, including a disturbing watermelon version of Irving’s (John Turturro) head.

When Mark reaches an office space, he stops in his tracks and encounters three new co-workers instead of his usual cohorts. A moment later, Warden Milchik (Tramell Tillman) arrives to greet the previously displaced worker carrying a bunch of balloons with Mark’s face on them. You might consider it the worst return-to-work policy on the planet.

The teaser works well as a first proper look at the new season. While the excellent season one finale gave innies and viewers some much-needed and genuinely shocking answers, the clip raises some new questions. It’s likely that we’ll have to endure a lot of tension in the 10-episode second season before we get more clarity on what’s going on in this strange workplace.
