The developer describes the game as “a twisted time travel story set in an unforgiving post-apocalyptic future.” It’s a very action-packed third-person survival horror movie. It’s a far cry from the psychological horror games the studio cut its teeth on, Like the Layers of Fear series. We spoke to the Bloober Team last year and said was moving away psychological horror and well, here’s the proof.
The trailer primarily consists of a long scene with a character who looks like Isaac. Dead Space and a bit like Grandpa Bioshock plays chess with a lady before walking through an apocalyptic hellscape. Here is the actual gameplay, but only towards the end of the trailer.
Bloober Team says that players will have to successfully navigate this “deadly wasteland” and fight “horrific abominations”. He also says that the game mixes “a creepy horror atmosphere with the limitless potential of science fiction.” The trailer certainly confirms that feeling.
