Amazon is reshuffling the deck with itself God of War series. after the success of Fallouthe wants the next Prime Video game adaptation to live up to those lofty expectations – and it seems he’s willing to start over to do so. Deadline first informed On Thursday, the showrunner and two executive producers left the project as the broadcaster recalibrated “to move in a different creative direction.”
Showrunner and executive producer Rafe Judkins (The wheel of time) and executive producers Mark Fergus and Hawk Otsby (Children of Men and Iron man) are no longer participating in the project. Amazon and Sony are reported to have praised their scripts, suggesting the shakeup is more about wanting innovation than quality concerns. according to DiversityAmazon plans to hire a new showrunner and create a new writers’ room to take another shot at live-action Kratos.
It is a serial adaptation 2018 franchise reboot moved this movement from Greek mythology to Norse mythology. Amazon’s description should sound familiar to anyone who has played the game:
“When his beloved wife dies, Kratos and his estranged son embark on a perilous journey to scatter her ashes from the highest peak – his wife’s last wish.[The quest] will test the bonds between father and son and force Kratos to battle new gods and monsters for the fate of the world.
Amazon Studios is producing the series in association with Sony Pictures Television. according to DeadlineSanta Monica Studio creative director Corey Barlog remains as executive producer. PlayStation Productions’ Assad Gizilbash and Carter Swan are said to be leaving, as well as Santa Monica Studio’s Yumi Yang and Vertigo’s Roy Lee.
