The first trailer for Netflix has been released post-apocalyptic way From Marvel (and Community) are mainstays of The Russo Brothers. Simon Stålenhag’s 2018 graphic novel adaptation is set in a retro-futuristic version of the 90s following a robot uprising. It tells the story of an orphaned teenager named Michelle (Millie Bobby Brown) who travels to the western United States in search of her younger brother with a smuggler (a mustachioed Chris Pratt) and a pair of robots.
The look of the film draws a lot from it to oversized VR helmets. The robots, especially those accompanying Michelle, have a cartoon-inspired aesthetic that wouldn’t look out of place. Fallout. A large teddy bear robot can be seen as part of a parade of cars, while our heroes encounter a giant robot that looks a bit like Sonic the Hedgehog.
Meanwhile, the whole “famous song in a movie trailer slowed down” thing might have jumped the shark with Oasis’ version of “Champagne Supernova.” Of course, it fits the conditions of the 90s, but as soon as I recognized it, I couldn’t help myself.
The movie has one hell of a cast. In addition to Brown and Pratt, it stars Ke Huy Quan, Jason Alexander, Woody Harrelson, Anthony Mackie, Brian Cox, Jenny Slate, Giancarlo Esposito and Stanley Tucci. Electric state It airs on Netflix on March 14.
