Apple is reportedly looking to add digital car key support in the Wallet app for some Volvo, Polestar, and Audi vehicles. Currently Apple’s the support list includes cars from Kia, BMW, Lotus and a number of other manufacturers.
The Digital Car Key feature allows iPhone and Apple Watch owners to enter, lock or start their vehicles by holding the device near the vehicle’s NFC reader. The wallet app should also run in the background or foreground, but no button presses are required.
