Prime Day Kindle deals include discounts on the Scribe, Paperwhite and Paperwhite Kids at up to 32 percent off


Amazon’s second Chief Day of the year is here, and some deals apply to Kindle readers. Unfortunately, the standard Kindle is currently out of stock, as are several other models. This could be a hint that a new Kindle device is on the horizon, but we don’t know anything for sure on that front yet.

Ours we recognize that Amazon is the dominant force in this universe. But even the latest Kindle, Kindle Scribeit is about two years old at this point. Now Kindle rivals Kobo and Boox have both color modelsthe same can be expected from Amazon soon. However, unlike a tablet or smartphone, Kindle readers are designed to do one thing well: display text on a non-distracting, visible screen. All three models on sale do this very well. Amazon Kindles dominate the ereader market and currently have four models to choose from. Of course, there could be a new Kindle on the horizon – rumours offer up to and the last entry to the line came two years ago. But since eReaders aren’t as technically heavy as tablets, the difference between generations may not be that big. What you buy today should still serve its primary function – crisp text – for years to come. Here are the best Prime Day Kindle deals.

  • Amazon Kindle Paperwhite for $125 ($25 off): The Paperwhite is an upgraded Kindle model that adds a larger display, adjustable warm light, and a waterproof build. A refined front screen makes page turning easier, and a faster processor speeds up this process as well.

  • Amazon Kindle Scribe for $255 ($85 off): You can both write and read with this tablet. It has a large 10.2-inch screen, auto-adjusting warm front light and auto-rotating screen. It comes with a Basic pen so you can even use the notebook feature that converts handwriting to text.

Children’s Kindles are basically the same as their “adult” counterparts, but they come with a cover, an extended warranty, and a free trial. Amazon Kids+ it allows youngsters to access kid-friendly audiobooks, stories and more. Plus, they don’t have ads on the lock screen (Amazon makes you pay $20 for this concession on standard devices).

  • Amazon Kindle Paperwhite Kids for $115 ($55 off): The kids’ edition of the upgraded Paperwhite ereader features a flat-front design, waterproof construction, and warm front lights for nighttime reading. This cover comes with a two-year warranty and a one-year children’s subscription.
