That’s not an all-time low — the ereader hit $240 on Prime Day in July — but it’s the lowest price we’ve tracked since then. Kindle Scribe is our choice the best E Ink tablet that’s also a reader. Latency is a no-brainer when it comes to drawing and handwriting notes, and we like that the main stylus is included in the price (instead of coming as a separate purchase like some E Ink pads do). You can also choose from a range of brush types, such as fountain pens, markers and pencils, and it’s easy to create and manage notebooks where you can apply these stroke styles.

We gave the device exactly 85 points Kindle Scribe Reviewit again praises the typing experience as well as the premium build and large screen size. One caveat is that most Kindle e-books lack support for writing in the margins. While there is small library headers that allow you to draw directly on the page are mainly crossword puzzles and planner headers. For most e-books, you’ll make notes in a pop-up window associated with the text.

As a reader, Scribe has several capabilities that other readers do not have, such as the ability to read two pages side-by-side when the screen is in landscape orientation. It also has a head-up display and auto-adjusting warm headlights. We also love how easy it is to read borrowed library books on Kindle. Plus, the latest update enabled handwriting-to-text conversion that you can email to your contacts.
