The base Fire HD 10 has dropped to its lowest price yet. You can get one of Amazon’s tablets for $75 before Prime Day’s October launch.
You probably won’t be as creative on the Fire HD tablet as you are on the iPad Pro. But for kicking back and catching up on a show or reading a Kindle book, Amazon’s tablet certainly does the trick. It has a 10.1-inch Full HD display and promises up to 13 hours of battery life. Amazon says it delivers 25 percent faster performance than the previous model and has 3GB of memory.
You can use the tablet to keep up with family and friends using messaging apps, or join video calls with the help of the 5-megapixel front camera. You can also use the stylus to sketch in various applications. Of course, there’s Alexa integration — you can use the tablet to control compatible smart home devices and get a live view of connected security cameras.
It’s worth noting that Amazon hasn’t held its usual fall device event yet, so it could use its October Prime Day sale to get rid of existing device inventory cheaply before announcing upgraded models. Even if Amazon has new tablets to show off in the coming weeks, you’ll still have a solid device in your hands if you pull it out.
