Apple has long been planning to debut a new operating system called homeOS with its smart displays, which is expected to arrive in 2025. It’s Mark Gurman. Reports has been spinning for over a year and It was only this summer that Apple said it was working on a desktop smart display can tilt and rotate the screen for better viewing. In his latest report, Gurman says two versions are in the works: a low-end display that will offer the basics like FaceTime and smart home controls, and a high-end robotic variant that will cost upwards of $1,000.
We’ll reportedly see a cheaper version first, probably next year, followed by a high-end display. Gurman previously stated that a robotic smart display could be launched in 2026 at the earliest. However, you won’t have to wait to get a taste of the premium model’s take on Apple’s home AI. According to Gurman, Apple Intelligence will be a core part of the experience for both devices. He notes that the new homeOS will be based on Apple TV’s tvOS.
