iRobot’s Roomba Combo Essential package retails for $280 currently via QVC. That’s $170 off a combo pack that includes the Roomba Combo 2 robovac and self-emptying base. A vacuum normally costs $280 by itself, so this gets you a free base. However, the vacuum is available for just $200 currently via Amazon without a base.
It’s certainly a budget-friendly entry into the company’s robot vacuum line, but it gets the job done. The company says this model outperforms the Roomba 600 Series and has 20 times more suction power. It’s also a vacuum/mop hybrid, so it can handle all aspects of floor cleaning.
It incorporates the same smart navigation algorithm as other iRobot vacuum cleaners, allowing it to move freely through space without bumping into objects or falling down stairs. Battery life is also spot on, allowing for about two hours of use per charge. Of course, when the battery is low, it will automatically return to the charging base.
It also integrates with the company’s proprietary software, which allows people to customize many settings and dictate cleaning schedules. The only major downside to this vacuum is that it doesn’t usually come with a self-draining base, but this package does. It holds junk for up to 60 days, so that’s two glorious months of lying on the couch doing nothing.
