Alienware has debuted its Pro Mouse and Keyboard january hour CES 2024and now the company is introducing the Pro Headset as part of the series. As with the mouse and keyboard, Alienware worked with more than 100 esports competitors and broadcasters before combining it with their technical knowledge. After 18 months of testing, the result is a headset that boasts up to 75 hours of battery life.
That’s an impressive number, but it’s not the whole picture. The headphones last 75 hours if you use them without active noise cancellation and connect via Bluetooth. Maximum battery life drops to 35 hours when using a 2.4GHz connection with ANC enabled. Battery life is 35 hours with ANC off if you intend to use the microphone; together with it falls to 25 hours.
Alienware’s ANC is effective at blocking sounds, but users can turn on Transparency mode to stay aware of their surroundings. In Transparency mode, users can also adjust how much background noise they want reduced.
Alienware didn’t stop there, as the 50mm drivers are coated with graphene to reduce distortion found at higher frequencies. These drivers also work great with vertical and 360-degree audio. With clear audio, players can instantly pinpoint where enemies are when they make sounds.
The microphone is removable and can be put away when not needed. It has two microphones, both of which are capable of AI-powered noise cancellation, ensuring that only your voice is transmitted to your teammates.
Along with improving audio quality and microphone capabilities, Alienware has made sure to deliver a comfortable and easy-to-use product. Both memory foam ear cups are easily replaceable and have physical control buttons for easy adjustments during gaming. In terms of connectivity, Alienware Pro Headset supports Bluetooth 5.3, wireless 2.4Ghz and USB connections.
Fans of Alienware’s hardware can get the Pro Headset this October for $230. Alienware has not announced a specific release date or availability in specific regions outside of North America.
Update 24/9/24 14:00: An earlier version of this story incorrectly listed the Pro headset as $150, but the correct price was $230. Alienware’s mid-range AW725H is its $150 headset model.
